I am in the same boat as Will is in. I am a new manager at a central cafeteria serving 3 campus'. I have got to do something about our participation. Please direct me to school cafeteria designs.

Things can be done differently, as all students can have a card, thumb print or whatever the system you have provides. This problem is just that "a problem" as I have seen it first hand in children not wanting to eat as to be singled out. If I can be of help - annette@kmdhospitality.com - I would be glad to give you free advice.

I am a member of our school's facilities planning committee in southeast Kentucky. We have approximately 400 mid/high schoool students with just over half receiving free/red lunch. Our students are not allowed to leave campus for lunch. We currently have P/K - 12 all going through the same cafeteria located in the elementary building, but are proposing to build a new cafeteria for the mid/high school students. Your article was insightful. Please discuss and/or direct me to high school cafeteria designs.
